About Me

UX Life

My UX journey began via a unique instance of a tech startup within academia. At UT Austin I learned how to use classical research methods with enough rigor to publish in journals while also using results to guide product development. This gave me a focus in developing better solutions for service providers and improving the landscape of healthcare technology.

My Fun Facts:

I have a iOS note that I add to randomly as I come across UX interactions that I either love or hate.

Some days I really love innovating, other days I feel more fulfilled by optimizing an existing solution.

My most controversial opinion about UX is that PowerPoint is a much stronger design tool than most folks realize.

Personal Life

I am originally from the Rio Grande Valley (the southern border of Texas) and have been living in Austin Texas since 2019.

Before the technology industry I worked in the pharmacy as a tech to put myself through college. This experience and many more have grounded me with a deep understanding of the healthcare industry.

When I am not working I am likely in the kitchen, on a bike trail, gardening, or building furniture in my workshop. I enjoy drinking wine with friends and spending time with my wife and four cats.
